However, understanding how a magnetorotational-instability (MRI)-active disk connects to the protostellar surface remains a major challenge. To explore the mechanisms governing mass and angular momentum transfer, we develop a global, three-dimensional magnetohydrodynamic model of boundary layer accretion around a magnetized, convective low-mass protostar.
