For this reason, it had been considered that protostars are irrelevant to the high energy phenomena that show strong X-ray radiation. However, X-ray observations have revealed that protostars often produce violent X-ray explosions. To resolve the problem, Drs. Takasao, Iwasaki, and their collaborators performed large simulations of growing protostars using the supercomputer at Center for Computational Astrophysics, NAOJ. As a result, they found a new energy release mechanism consistent with observations.
