The collaboration between the wide-field deep imaging capability of the Subaru Telescope and the observing flexibility of GTC played an important role in this study. The cooperative follow-up of a large number of gravitational wave events will elucidate the nature of these enigmatic phenomena.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"960\" src=\"https:\/\/sci.nao.ac.jp\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/GW200224mapmoon-1024x960.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3996\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sci.nao.ac.jp\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/GW200224mapmoon-1024x960.png 1024w, https:\/\/sci.nao.ac.jp\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/GW200224mapmoon-300x281.png 300w, https:\/\/sci.nao.ac.jp\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/GW200224mapmoon-768x720.png 768w, https:\/\/sci.nao.ac.jp\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/GW200224mapmoon-235x220.png 235w, https:\/\/sci.nao.ac.jp\/main\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/GW200224mapmoon.png 1388w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/>
Possible arrival direction of GW200224_22234 (90% probability), represented by a white line, determined by gravitational wave telescopes and the area observed by HSC, represented by red circles.
